Branca Water proof 35S can perform water penetration tests on fabrics, technical textiles, coating materials and membranes up to a maximum of 50 mH2O according to the ISO 811 and related Standard test methods.
The maximum hydrostatic head of fabrics determines the waterproof limits of fabrics subjected to a steadily increment of hydrostatic pressure expressed in cmH2O/min or mbar/min.
Test results are expressed in mmH2O, cmH2O, mbar or other measure units on request and are defined only after the first three water drops appear on the external surface of the fabric sample according to the test method described on Standard ISO 811:2018.
The sample pneumatic clamping is designed to assure the perfect sealing of the material reduce at minumum level the water leaks sidely to the test area and ensuring the proper increment of hydrostatic pressure during the test.
Water Proof Branca 35S can be offered with the auxiliary test area reductions of 10, 26 and 28 cm2 for AFNOR Standard to be coupled on flanges of 100 cm2 test area.
The hydrostatic head tester allows to reach the water proof limits of hydrostatic pressure up to 50 mH2O as higher measure range useful for several test methods and designed either for water resistant fabrics or technical textiles or waterproof membranes etc..
The hydrostatic head test with Water proof 35S can be performed on:
HMI touch screen 7" is a useful user interface for all end users who has to manage the apparel during test performances also through a remote control.
The certificate of Water Proof Branca 35S is released on request and issued from Accreditated Enties as ACCREDIA, ENAC, UKAS, TUNAS accreditation bodies.
Water proof Branca 35S is the hydrostatic head tester able to offer a selection of several test procedures:
DINAMIC TEST METHOD increase of hydrostatic pressure untill reaching the waterproof limits material (3 water drops test); |

Analyzing the fabric subjected to a gradually increasing hydrostatic pressure, detecting at which limit pressure value the first passage of water through the sample takes place.
The test method is the one described above: at the start of the test the water level must rise by 1 cmH2O per second or 60 cmH2O/min. The fabric is observed until the first 3 drops of water appear on the external surface.
The maximum hydrostatic pressure data indicated on the touch screen at the end of the test is then determined. The latter will be the waterproofing value of the fabric.
The purpose of the static test method is to verify the fabric sample subjected, for a time of 24 or 48 hours, to a determined pressure which remains constant for the entire time of the test. After this period of time, the results obtained are checked and a judgment is expressed regarding the lower face of the test piece.
The lower face of the fabric during the test:
With this type of test it is possible to determine the degree of effectiveness of the permeabilization process applied to the fabric.
